The Library Corner for 9/27/07

We want to say thank you to Ruth Bidwell and Elaine Woodcox forruth and elaine 001 their many years of indexing the Bronson Journal. Ruth started in 1989 and with the help over the years of Ellen Stutzman and Ethel Beauchamp and finally Elaine Woodcox, they have completed papers up through Dec. 2006. Ruth's daughter Cheryl typed all the information into the computer and printed it out so that we can have it on file here in the library. We did some number counting and found that the ladies have indexed 122 years of Bronson papers starting with 1884 and they indexed 57,037 names of births, marriages and deaths. The people doing genealogy research are very grateful for the indexes.
