We kicked off National Library Week with a balloon launch in the rain. Fifteen brave souls gathered Saturday morning to help inflate balloons and tie strings and tags. The rain let up a bit by 11:00 and we sent 50 balloons on their way heading north east. Now we will wait to see who's balloons are found. Other events going on this week included a meeting of the Bronson Bookies to discuss the book "Little Heathens" by Mildred Armstrong Kalish.  A Friends of the Bronson Library meeting and the puppet workshop.  On Friday April 18 we will have a Friday Tales program at 11:00 a.m.

At the last Friday Tales the children heard several stories about St. Patrick's day and then met Lenny the Frog Leprechaun and were sent on a search for Lenny's gold which he had hidden throughout the library. They found handfuls of gold which was then divided between all the children. It was very exciting trying to figure out where Lenny might have hidden his gold! Our next preschool story time will be Friday March 28 at 11:00 a.m. for ages 3-5.

The Friends of the Bronson Library have been working the past few months on gathering items for a Silent Auction to be held Friday March 7 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Bronson First United Methodist Church.  The Auction will be held during a Soup and Sandwich Supper sponsored by the Bronson First United Methodist Church.  The money raised from these two projects will go towards making our library a barrier free building.
