This cl.ub, known as the Interact Club, has a twofold purpose: 1) to promote the ldea of service to the community, and 2l to open young peoplers minds to the world in which we llve. t{ith those two goals in mind the following will give a partial list of activities that our Club members are involved in. In regards to community service we are partlcipating in the Staters Adopt-A-Highway Program, cleaning up a section of I-69. A group of our students has been involved ln a tutoring program at Edison School each Tuesday and Thursday, and other mernbers have been involved with the English as a Second tanguage Program offered through Franklin Adult Education. tle organized this yearrs Christmas in Coldwater food drive in the High School and doubled the amount of food received from the prevlous year. Our organization has helped wlth the Big Bros./Sisters Bowl-A-Thon and also Later on this helped the local Hospice program with various activities. year we hope to donate money that we are raising to various community organizations as weLl aE establishing eome type of scholarshlp program for our members who are in need of the financial he1p. As to the International component that we participate in, one slgnificant thing the club declded to do at the beginning of this school year vras to invite each forelgn exchange student to be a part of our group. This has given these students activities to be involved in as well as nevt students to neet and befrlend. As a way to better understand the world in which we live our club members will be partlcipating in a Hode1 United Nations held at Hope ColLege ln March.
