Announcing our Local History Digital Archive

We are happy to announce our new digital archive for Branch County History. We have started off by digitizing a collection of old audio cassette recordings of interviews conducted by the Branch County Historical Society. Over time, we'll be digitizing documents and images related to our local history. These items will come from collections at our branches in Coldwater, Bronson, Quincy, and Union Twp. This will be an ongoing project, and special thanks to Nola Baker for helping to make this project happen.

Patience, Please

I hope you have had a chance to take a look at our new library system, EVERGREEN. We are proud at Branch District to be the first library in Michigan to run this open-source product.

As with any change this major, it will take both you and us a little while to get used to the new functions. This is where we need your help.

Evergreen Update

Tomorrow night our conversion to Evergreen begins! This process should be finished by Monday morning. We'll still be open on Saturday, but operating in "offline" mode. Please be patient with us, and make sure you bring your library card with you, since we won't be able to look up your account details.

Announcing Michigan Evergreen

Branch District Library is partnering with the Michigan Library Consortium to be the first library in Michigan to switch to the new Evergreen Library System.

Evergreen comes with many new features, and you'll love them all.

We will go live on this new system on August 4th, 2008. In preparation for this change, the Coldwater branch of the  library will be closed all day for two days:

Monday July 14th
Monday July 21st
