Teen Read Week... October 17-23.

Teen Read Week is coming up soon. October 17-23 is National Teen Read Week. This is the first year the Coldwater branch has had the opportunity to put together some fun events for our local teens. Along with some great prizes, there are also going to be an event going on almost every day of the week.

Monday- It's Sign Up Day. Come to the magazine area on the main floor at Coldwater and sign up for the events you'd be interested in. Sign Up Day is from 3-6. These events are open for ages 13-18. There is a prize for signing up for an event. Even if you forget to sign up, don't worry just come on by. Come see what we're doing in our Young Adult section.

Tuesday- Bring your A game because Tuesday night is Game Night! This is open for ages 13-18 and runs from 4:30-6:30. Challenge your friends to game of Uno or Scrabble. Or test your speed with our own Wii's Mario Cart. This will be at the 3rd floor meeting room. There is a prize for attending.

Thursday- It's our monthly Anime Club meeting, but with a twist! We're going to have a Karaoke night, but Japanese style. Ever wonder how the Japanese do Karaoke? Well here's your chance to check it out. Afterward we'll be watching some great Anime. This is open for ages 13-18 and runs from 4:30 to 6:30 in the 3rd floor meeting room. There is a prize for attending.

Friday- We end Teen Read Week 2010 with Poetry @ Northwoods. We will be having a poetry slam at Northwoods Coffee Company in downtown Coldwater. This event is open for ages 13-18 and will run from 4-6. There is a prize for attending as well as finding out who the winner is this year's Teen Writing Contest. Come by and read your favorite poem or one of your own creation with good friends and a hot beverage.

I hope to see you there and if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me, Amanda Yearling at teens@branchdistrictlibrary.org, on Facebook (Branch District Library Teen Services), or by phone 517-278-2341.
