Branch District Library

The Library Corner for 04/17/08

We kicked off National Library Week with a balloon launch in the rain. Fifteen brave souls gathered Saturday morning to help inflate balloons and tie strings and tags. The rain let up a bit by 11:00 and we sent 50 balloons on their way heading north east. Now we will wait to see who's balloons are found. Other events going on this week included a meeting of the Bronson Bookies to discuss the book "Little Heathens" by Mildred Armstrong Kalish.  A Friends of the Bronson Library meeting and the puppet workshop.  On
Friday April 18 we will have a Friday Tales program at 11:00 a.m. for ages 3-5, a U.S.A. Girls Club meeting at 4:00 p.m. and a movie night starting at 6:00 p.m.

Several people have asked if we made our 100,000 pages for March is Reading Month and the answer is yes. We ended with a total of 225,564 read. Mrs. Byler's class from St. Mary's turned in 14,336 pages just from their classroom alone. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read and keep track of pages for us.
