Branch District Library

Bronson Accessibility Project

Our Bronson Library building is a historical Carnegie Library. It is also the only library in the Branch District Library System that is not accessible to the disabled.

The Friends of the Bronson Library have been discussing for some time the need to make our library accessible. And now we're taking action. We have plans from an architect for modifying the rear of the building to gain the desired accessibility, while preserving the historical front entrance.

Our goal for this project is $225,000, which includes not only an elevator, but accessible restrooms as well. The Bronson Library is blessed to have an endowment fund from Glen and Aileen Barnett. The interest earned from this endowment has been pledged to the building project and amounts to around $13,000 a year.

Branch Manager, Lynnell Eash, and Bronson Library Board President, Gayle Clover, have sought, and will continue to seek, additional sources of funding. But we need your help, too!

If you would like to help us make our library accessible, please consider a tax-deductible gift. For more information on how you can help, please contact Library Manager Lynnell Eash at 517-369-3785.
