Help Accessing Your Account

Getting a list of the books you have checked out, renewing books, or just managing your account is a snap with our online interface.

1) First, click on "Access Your Account", under the "Search the Catalog" box at the top of the web page (see below).

2) For the next step, you will need your library card. There is a barcode on your card—either on the front or back, depending on how old your card is. Under this barcode is a 14-digit ID number. Enter this number into the box next to where it says "Patron / Alternate ID Number". Don't put in any spaces or punctuation. And if your ID number ends in a letter, enter it exactly as it is on the card. Our system is case-sensitive, so a capital "W" is different than a lower-case "w".

3) Next, you need to enter your Personal Identification Number, or PIN. When you get a new card, your PIN defaults to the last four characters of your library card number. So if your library card number is 1234567890123M, your default PIN will be 123M. Again, this is case-sensitive, so in the previous example, that is a capital "M".

4) You will now be on your Patron Information screen. Here you will see your account information, any fines you may have, and more. You can also change your PIN at any time by clicking on the "Change PIN" button.

In the "Loans" section, you'll see a listing of all the books you currently have out. You'll also be able to renew the books yourself. Books may be renewed once, provided you have no fines or other blocks on your account. If someone else has placed a hold on a book you currently have, you will not be able to renew that book.

And if you have asked to turn on your Loan History, you'll be able to see a list of every book you've checked out since the feature was turned on. (If you would like to turn this feature on, please ask at the circulation desk at any branch location.)
